Healing Promises

Healing Promises

These are Bible promises, for physical healing. May they build your faith, as you look to Jesus your healer.

In Exodus 15:26, our God introduces himself to his people as Jehovah Rapha. He says: “I am the LORD your healer.”

Then in Exodus 23:25, he promises, “I will take sickness away from you.”

Here are selected promises from the Psalms regarding healing.

Psalm 30:2 “Oh LORD my God, I cried to you for help, and you have healed me.”

Psalm 103:2-3 “Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits, who forgives all your sins, who heals all your diseases.”

Psalm 107:19-21 “Then they cried to the LORD in their trouble, and he delivered them from their distress. He sent out his word and healed them, and delivered them from their destruction. Let them thank the LORD for his steadfast love, for his wondrous works to the children of man!”

Next, some wisdom from Proverbs.

Proverbs 4:20-22 “My son, be attentive to my words; incline your ear to my sayings. Let them not escape from your sight; keep them within your heart. For they are life to those who find them, and healing to all their flesh.”

Now listen to promises from the prophets Jeremiah, Isaiah and Malachi.

Isaiah 53:4-5, looking to Jesus on the cross: “Surely he has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; He was pierced for our transgressions; he was crushed for our iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with his wounds we are healed.”

Jeremiah 17:14 “Heal me, O LORD, and I shall be healed; save me, and I shall be saved, for you are my praise.”

Jeremiah 30:17 “For I will restore health to you, and your wounds I will heal, declares the LORD.”

Malachi 4:2 “But to you who fear my name The Sun of Righteousness shall arise with healing in His wings.”

Jesus ministry on earth included preaching, teaching and healing.

Matthew 4:23 “Jesus went throughout all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues and proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom and healing every disease and every affliction among the people.”

Matthew 8:16-17 “Jesus healed all who were sick. This was to fulfill what was spoken by the prophet Isaiah: He took our illnesses and bore our diseases.”

Matthew 9:35 “Jesus went throughout all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues and proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom and healing every disease and every affliction.”

Jesus said to the woman with the issue of blood, who had touched the hem of his garment in Mark 5:34: “Your faith has made you well; go in peace, and be healed of your disease.”

We see in Luke 6:17-19 “A great multitude of people came to hear him and to be healed of their diseases. And all the crowd sought to touch him, for power came out from him and healed them all.”

We also see that Jesus sent out his disciples to heal the sick.

In Matthew 10:1 “Jesus gave his disciples authority to heal every disease and every affliction.”

We are told in James 5:14-15, to call for the elders of the church to pray for us: “Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith will save the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.”

Finally, listen to 1 Peter 2:24 “He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed.”

We encourage you to listen to these promises as you look to Jesus as your healer. Romans 10:17 says that, faith comes and grows, as we hear Gods Word.

As you listen, ask the Holy Spirit to speak to you. What does He want you to do? How does he want you to respond to these Bible promises for your physical healing?
